He is the founder, managing director and CEO of Black Dragon Capital, a minority controlled growth oriented private equity firm with a focus on technology investment opportunities in e-commerce, financial services, digital media, healthcare and sports technology. His unique emphasis on diversity and an operator led model has produced well above market returns and created a template for the future of private equity.
His successful approach to creating market leading companies evolved from a career as chief executive of technology companies that he grew from budding startups and mid-size companies into global enterprises. The businesses that he has created and operated have created thousands of jobs around the globe and operated in over 140 countries. He has created multiple billions in value as a leader and has founded several companies, including Payveris, the fastest-growing digital money-movement technology provider to financial institutions.
Louis has won numerous awards for innovation, leadership and technology. He has served as board member and advisor for global organizations, such as HSBC, Edison, Fiserv, Infosys, and KPMG, as well as early-stage technology companies and industry groups, including the Berkeley School of Music and the National Association of Music Merchants.
He has advised governors, hospital boards, science centers, educational foundations, and technology councils on public policy, strategy, technology strategy, technology and gender, and growth. Louis is frequently quoted in major newspapers, profiled in international magazines and called upon to appear on U.S. and international broadcast network shows as an expert on economic policy, technology, strategy and globalization.
Louis has been engaged in soccer at all levels: as a player, a licensed premier and travel-club youth soccer coach, an investor in professional teams, and as a founding owner of the first women’s professional league in the United States. He was a premier coach of high-ranking female teams for the FSA Soccer Plus Football Club, which is the premier Elite Clubs National League club of U.S. Women's National Team Head coaching legend Tony DiCicco.
